<p>The St. Thomas University soccer teams walked away without a single goal scored on them in their double-header against the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus Rams on Sept. 22. <p>The University of New Brunswick Red Bombers lost to the Dalhousie University Tigers in a close home opener football game on Sept. 22. <p>The St. Thomas University women’s hockey team played their second exhibition game of the season on Sept. 15 against the McGill University Martlets, losing 2-0. <p>A former runner for the University of New Brunswick’s cross country and track and field teams has switched campuses to coach the St. Thomas University cross country and track teams. <p>A player for the St. Thomas University women’s hockey team spent 10 days of her summer in Calgary, Alta. after being handpicked by Hockey Canada to participate in an elite hockey camp. Alex Woods travelled to Calgary on Aug. 2 to participate in the Hockey Canada Summer Showcase as a member of the U SPORTS [&hellip;]</p>

The Tommies had a great season last year with the women’s hockey team making it to the semi-finals in the Atlantic University Sport playoffs and the women’s soccer team winning the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association championships. <p>Women’s soccer The STU women’s soccer team had a season to remember, winning the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association championship. They then took a trip to Halifax to compete in nationals. Coming off a tough season last year with 3-8-1 record and 11 rookies on the team, they missed playoffs for the second straight season. They [&hellip;]</p>

<p>I remember my first real hockey game. I was six years old and I had never been so excited for anything in my life. I was bad. In fact, I was horrible. After multiple goals scored against my line, and getting a breakaway just to shoot the puck in the wrong direction, the father of [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The St. Thomas University athletics department celebrated another successful year with its end-of-the-year banquet on March 26. There were 18 graduating Tommies who received T-plaques for participating in at least one sport for three years at STU. The women&#8217;s soccer team and men&#8217;s volleyball team were congratulated on their Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association league wins. The [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Megan Mills, a second-year criminology student, was named one of the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association Second Team All-Stars after St. Thomas University&#8217;s victories this volleyball this season. “It is an award that your coach picks players from the team who have a good season and deserved to be acknowledged,” said Mills. <p>It&#8217;s March so obviously the National Collegiate Athletic Association basketball tournament is in full effect. This past weekend saw some major upsets and it made for great TV. However, analysts all over the world are saying this is terrible for the rest of the tournament. But, how can that be? The big schools have been [&hellip;]</p>

<p>The gloves almost stayed on for this year’s pursuit of the annual Washburn cup as St. Thomas University&#8217;s upper and lower campuses battled it out on the ice on March 10, where the fan-favourite tradition of fighting in the final period was banned. <p>Six St. Thomas University student athletes, two women&#8217;s hockey players, two women&#8217;s volleyball players, one men&#8217;s volleyball player and one women&#8217;s basketball player, received major awards from their respective leagues.
