<p>The St. Thomas University Tommies women’s hockey team finished off the season with a bang. The Tommies defeated the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleues 4-1 at the Grant Harvey Centre on Saturday night. The Tommies goalie made an astonishing 66 saves Saturday night against the Acadia Axemen, but the Tommies were on the wrong end of a 5-2 loss to the nationally ranked Axemen. <p>It was a rough game against St. FX for the Lady Tommies as they lost 3-1 at the Grant Harvey Centre on Saturday afternoon. <p>The Tommies finally gave the Grant Harvey Centre faithful something to cheer about over the weekend as they collected three out of a possible four points. They were beaten 3-2 in a shootout Friday night by the Saint Mary Huskies, but came roaring back Saturday night to beat the St. FX X-Men 5-4 in a [&hellip;]</p>

<p>Despite only shooting 6 for 30 from behind the arc in the game, the Tommies had a huge momentum swing in the first-half from the beyond the arc when Sam Wilson hit back to back threes to give STU a commanding lead and they never looked back. <p>The first semester of this year is almost finished, and as Christmas break draws closer the work load becomes heavier. Unfortunately, as the number of classes dwindle, so do student ambition levels. Once the end of the semester is in sight our focus tends to shift from school to the upcoming holiday season.
