On March 7, the St. Thomas University Tommies concluded the winter sports season. Despite not achieving each team's expectations of winning a banner, their hard work and dedication were demonstrated throughout the season.

Many may know the Fredericton Member of Parliament as Jenica Atwin — however, for just one day, Atwin ditched her name and instead unveiled her drag persona: Miss Legi-slayyted.

Less than two weeks after being sworn in as the 24th prime minister of Canada, Mark Carney asked the Governor General to dissolve Parliament, triggering a federal election.

Chidubem Nkoloagu is a fifth-year fullback for the St. Thomas University men’s soccer team. A natural athlete, he began playing in his hometown of Vancouver at the age of five but didn’t start taking it seriously until he was older.

On March 20, the Long Night Against Procrastination (LNAP) event took place in Sir James Dunn Hall (JDH). A tradition that has been running for more than five years, LNAP brings together off-campus and on-campus students.

On March 9, India defeated New Zealand to win the 2025 International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions Trophy. The Indian cricket fanbase went crazy.  

The 2024-25 season has ended for the St. Thomas University teams and with that, the STU Athletics Department is wrapping up a year to remember. 

On March 19, Stockholm was announced as the host city for the upcoming National Hockey League (NHL) Global Series. Stockholm is Sweden’s capital city, with over 900,000 people calling the area home.

As Ramadan began, St. Thomas University has stepped up efforts to support its Muslim students with practical accommodations and community initiatives.

On the evening of Feb. 25, five digital media students collaborated to create a cinematic interview for a Hollywood producer. Students David Coish, Isabella Mármol, Suzanne Shah, Tin Belinic and Ian Curran helped produce an interview for a Hollywood documentary. 

On March 21, the sustainability initiative at St. Thomas University highlighted local business Consciously Clean Refillery as part of STU Sustainability Week, with a booth in Sir James Dunn Hall offering coupons and sustainable products.

Eight years ago, local drag queen Hinky Dinky recalled Fredericton drag shows happening just once or twice a month. Now, drag shows happen nearly every single weekend, with all sorts of drag performers – from queens, kings, bio queens and more.

St. Thomas University psychology professor Doris Chow revealed her research on how sound influences visual stability and multisensory perception in a public lecture on March 17.

The first Canadian women’s professional soccer league will kick off on April 16, with the Vancouver Rise FC facing the Calgary Wild FC. 

On March 7, Mickey 17 premiered in theatres. Starring Robert Pattinson, this dystopian storyline transports the audience to a future where science has discovered a way to resurrect humans through 3D printing.  

St. Thomas University students, faculty and community gathered for the 21st Annual Student Ideas Research Fair held on Mar. 14. The positive energy and excitement in the room was palpable as students anticipated their presentations.
