Mike Eagles is stepping down as coach of the men’s hockey team to focus on his other job as STU athletics director.

The university president split the two positions up, and let Eagles decide which job he wanted.

The university will be moving quickly to hire a new coach of the hockey team. Employment ads are being sent out this week, and a hiring committee has been formed. It is made up of administrators, former players, hockey executives, and alumni.

More information will be posted as this story develops.
