Conservative Keith Ashfield giving his victory speech in Fredericton on May 2, 2011.

Conservative Party incumbent Keith Ashfield has won with NDP Jesse Travis coming in second and Randy McKeen in third.

The riding was called for Ashfield early after polls closed. The Liberals were holding a party at iRock were McKeen gave his concession speech to a gloomy crowd.  He then went to the Crowne Plaza where the Conservative event was held.

Ashfield gave the podium to McKeen and both shook hands. Ashfield also brought Green Party candidate Louise Comeau to the stage to congratulate her.

At the UNB Grad House, the NDP party was celebratory even though Jesse Travis was defeated. The party achieved a major breakthrough that has significantly changed the political landscape in Canada.
