UNB and STU students were among the 250 residents displaced from their homes in Forest Hills Towers last week, after a fire broke out on one of the upper floors of the 141 unit building.

The fire in the nine story structure was contained to one room, but smoke and water damage is extensive.

Tenants of the lesser damaged units will be kept out for three to four weeks, while the worst hit floors will be out of commission for up to seven months.

Investigators blame the fire on human error.

Three people were taken to hospital after the fire and have since been released.
