Mary-Dan Johnston is the newest vice-president at the St. Thomas University students’ union. Johnston secured 67 per cent of the votes during the by-election that finished Friday.

Of 268 votes, Johnston garnered 180, her opponent, Mitch Messom recieved 80, and eight were spoiled.

The election also saw Marylynn Côté elected one of six off -campus representatives. Côté ran unopposed in the by-election after Mitch Messom resigned his post as off campus representative to purse the VP administration post.

One hundred ten students voted in that election, 74 voted “yes”, 26 “no”, and 10 ballots were spoiled.
