Well I’m back from vacation and ready for a much busier new year.

I fully admit this little blog hasn’t been getting the attention it deserves, but that’s going to change. Expect a lot more updates this semester.

We’ll kick things off with some interesting news for journalism students.

St. Thomas University has finally added a course focusing on internet journalism.  JOUR 3073 “Reporting 2.0 – New Media and the New Journalism” will be taught by a returning Philip Lee.

Here’s the course description:

This course will explore the decline of traditional media such as newspapers and supper hour television news programs, and the rise of new media on the internet. What does the future hold for journalism in a world of instant communication? What role will professional reporters play in the evolving world of Journalism 2.0? Prerequisite: Journalism 2023.

And yes, I did snag one of the 25 seats.
