Dalton Camp Lecture CBC Foreign Correspondent, Nahlah Ayed, will present the annual Dalton Camp Lecture on Nov. 7 at 8 p.m., in the Kinsella Auditorium. Ayed worked in the Middle East for seven years and now lives in Toronto as the The National’s correspondent. She has won multiple awards for her journalism, including three Gemini awards. She also wrote a book about her experiences in the Middle East and Canada, titled A Thousand Farewells: A Reporter’s Journey from Refugee Camp to the Arab Spring.

Overcoming Academic Anxiety UNB Counselling Services will hold two workshops on overcoming academic anxiety for UNB and STU students. One session will be held on Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. in McCain Hall, Room 308. The other session will be held on Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m. on the second floor of C.C. Jones at UNB. The workshops last one and a half hours, are free, and don’t require registration. They focus on sports psychology to help students overcome academic anxiety, like presentations or exams. These workshops are part of Career Week at STU, which runs from Nov. 5 to Nov. 11.

Time is on Our Side: Time Perspective and Mental Health Endowed Visiting Chair in Gerontology, Jeff Webster, will give a talk on time and mental health on Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. in the Forest Hill Conference Centre. It’s presented by the Third Age Centre, and costs $5 for members, or $10 for non-members. Webster is teaching a new course “Time, Identity and Wisdom” at STU this semester. His research includes wisdom, time, and reminiscence. He is an instructor at Langara College, in Vancouver, and has co-edited two books.
